What is the Bredesen Protocol, and who can benefit from it?
Developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen at Apollo Health, the Bredesen Protocol is a prevention and treatment method based on 36 factors, including insulin resistance, poor nutrient status, lack of trophic support, exposure to toxins, and more, that can trigger “downsizing” in the brain.
The Bredesen Protocol has two pathways: PreCODE and ReCODE.
Bredesen Protocol Pathways
PreCODE
(Goal of Prevention)
Intended for:
Adults with a family history of Alzheimer’s or dementia
Adults with risk factors like pre-diabetes or inflammation
Adults over age 45
ReCODE
(Goal of Reversal)
Intended for:
Adults experiencing Subjective Cognitive Impairment (SCI) or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
Adults diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease
Meet Your Program Physician: Dr. Sita Kedia
Sita Kedia, MD, MPH, FAHS
Chief Medical Officer and Neurologist
Dr. Sita Kedia is one of the few neurologists in the country trained and certified as a Bredesen Protocol practitioner. She is MoCA certified to do standardized cognitive testing for the Bredesen Protocol.
Over the last five years, Sita has become convinced of the need to focus on brain health from a preventive standpoint. She has witnessed firsthand the rising rates of older adults with neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, and ALS. She feels strongly that medical providers can help prevent the development of these diseases by focusing on a multidimensional approach that targets their root causes, thereby changing the trajectory of brain potential.
Sita earned her medical degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is triple board certified in Pediatrics, Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology, and Headache Medicine, and also received her Master’s of Public Health from the University of Colorado School of Public Health.
Dr. Kedia and her team will walk you through the Bredesen protocol step by step to increase your chances of success.
